A Distribution-Free Normal Scores Test for Ordered Alternatives in the Randomized Block Design.

Abstract

The authors introduce a new distribution-free normal scores test for detecting ordered alternatives among k treatments in the randomized block design. For k = 2 and k = 3, the test is equivalent to Page's test, but for k > or = 4 it is more efficient than Page's test for certain important distributions. A brief null distribution table is provided, and the procedure is illustrated via a worked example. (Author)
