Large File Management Information Systems.

Abstract

The nature of a computer-based information system intended to provide effective support to a manager is considered. The purpose is to identify the principles of such a system at a level of abstraction that will be essentially independent of the particular organization served. From this level of abstraction, the analysis is developed to consider the properties that a system should have if it is to respond according to the identified principles. In turn, the properties are developed to a set of functional block diagrams for the several subsystems involved. (Author)
