Abstract

Literature dealing with the engineering characteristics of coastal inlets was surveyed. A bibliography of 226 citations deal with the physical characteristics of coastal inlets, effects of waves, tides, flows, littoral drift and sediments, history of inlet improvement, based on theory and experience.
