A Disk File Library Management System for the CDC-3800 813 Disk File.

Abstract

DISKLOAD is designed to allow users of CDC-3800, operating under DRUM SCOPE with an 813 Disk File, to store, recover, or update information files on disk. Management of these information files, which can be binary programs, source language programs, or data sets, is handled by DISKLOAD. Entries on the disk file are uniquely identified and organized in a table of contents. The user is, therefore, able to access entries (via the unique identification name) for insertion, deletion, or transfer to other logical units. These basic operations of DISKLOAD give the user the vehicle to form his own library on the 813 Disk, from which he can transfer a copy of a stored program (or data) to an intermediate logical unit (on DRUM) which will allow loading and execution later in the run stream.
