The Absorption of Energy by Alloys under Plastic Compression (Pogloshchenie Energii Splavami pri Plasticheskem Szhatii),

Abstract

Energy absorption under plastic deformation is shown to be greater for alloys than for pure metals. This is explained by the presence of lattice distortions in the alloy; evidently the energy is absorbed in the deformation of third order residual stresses.
