A Catalog of Distinct Solar Radio Events for Fixed Frequency Observations Made at The Pennsylvania State University Radio Astronomy Observatory during the Period 1 July 1964 through 30 June 1970. Section 1 - Data Reduction Procedures,

Abstract

A description of the equipment and a discussion of the radiometer system parameters are given. The measurement of solar radio flux densities is discussed in detail. The procedures used to correct the data for various effects, including an approximate correction for the atmospheric attenuation, are given. The factors effecting the accuracy of the flux density data are discussed and it is shown that the mean errors in the relative burst flux densities are about 8%, 7% and 8% for 10.7 GHz, 2.70 GHz and 960 MHz, respectively.
