Householder Eigensystem Program.
Abstract
The report describes a set of procedures for determining the eigenvalues and eigenvectors of real symmetric matrices. The procedures are based on the highly efficient Householder technique and, in addition, include Kahan's method for obtaining the eigenvalues of the real symmetric matrix, thus reducing storage requirements and allowing the use of larger matrices on small and medium sized computers. These techniques are of particular importance in extracting significant target attributes from large amounts of sensor data and for storing the data in more compact form for later reference. (Author)
