The Electronic Absorption Spectra of Carbon Subsulfide.

Abstract

The electronic absorption spectra of gaseous carbon subsulfide (C3S2) at 4850 A and 2375 A have been obtained. An interpretation is given for the two observed electronic systems. The first electronic system consists of multiple bands in the 4850 A region and the second electronic system of approximately 15 bands is found around 2375 A. Photolysis of the carbon subsulfide precludes studies in the vacuum ultraviolet region. (Author)
