Abstract
The complete logical design of a coder/multiplexer system containing a fully automatic multiplex and code synchronization scheme with no bandwidth penalty has been carried out. Volume I gives the analyses involved in selecting the implemented technique. It describes in detail many innovative coding features considered in the design. This volume presents the resultant final design. (Author)
