The PREP Program at Monterey Peninsula College,

Abstract

An informal account of the establishment and operation of a U. S. Army Predischarge Education Program, in which HumRRO aided a junior college in providing high school graduates with significant preparation for college work, is given. The PREP program is designed for soon-to-be discharged servicemen and women who need help and encouragement if they are to take advantage of available education benefits. PREP offers disadvantaged students the opportunity to develop skills and self-confidence they will need to succeed in higher education and in careers. (Author)
