The Body Weight-Organ Weight Relationships of the Immature Hamster, 'Mesocricetus auratus', from Birth to Weaning.

Abstract

Data in the form of absolute and relative weights, coefficients of correlation, and prediction equations are presented for the growth of 8 principal organs of 150 young hamsters. The body weights range from 1 gram, at birth, to 16 grams, the weight at weaning. Unlike the mature animal, no significant differences can be demonstrated between the growth rates of the heart in either sex in the immature hamster. (Author)
