Determination of Residual Stresses in Composite Materials (Opredelenie Ostatoschykh Napryazhenii v Kompozitsionnykh Materiakakh),
Abstract
The authors develop empirical methods for determining longitudinal stresses in fiber-reinforced materials when the history of their deformation is known. These methods are based on the peculiarities of the stress diagrams and the compression of composite materials. All three methods outlined yield very similar figures for residual stress, both in matrix and in the fibers. (Author)
