One Method for Constructing the Asymptotic Solution to Problems of Gas Lubrication with a Supercharge,

Abstract

The development of a method of solving problems of gas lubrication with injection at large compressibility numbers is given. A system of discrete injection sources is replaced by an injection line with a nonuniform rate of feeding the gas into the lubricating layer. The radial displacement of the pin in a cylindrical bearing is considered as an example. An integral condition which must be satisfied by the pressure on the injection line is obtained. On the basis of an analysis of two particular cases it is concluded that the integral condition can be satisfied if the unknown function is taken to be a constant. (Author)
