Automation of the Design of Automatic Control Devices,

Abstract

The requirements of a systems approach to the computerization of automatic control system planning are listed. Three design stages are identified. At the first, of system stage, the overall block diagram of the control system is established. Next comes the logic stage, at which the functional diagrams of all the units in the control system are derived, mainly from the results obtained at the first stage. The final technical stage involves detailed planning of the structural units. The main body of the paper is then devoted to the various tasks comprising the system stage. These are: identification of control parameters, description of controlled plant and method of control, preparation of basic data for analysis, and evaluation of alternative control mechanisms in the system as a whole.
