The Ion Composition and Vertical Distribution of Charged Particles in the F Region of the Ionosphere and in the Protonosphere,

Abstract

Data concerning the ion composition and vertical distribution of charged particles in the F region of the ionosphere and in the protonosphere are presented. The data were obtained by ground-level and extra-terrestrial methods of observation. The latitudinal, time, and altitudinal variations of the electron concentration in the upper ionosphere and the altitudinal variations of the ion composition during a cycle of solar activity are investigated.
