Investigation of Methods of Finishing Formed Concrete Surfaces.

Abstract

Difficulty has been encountered on many construction projects in obtaining a satisfactory finish of formed concrete surfaces because of unsightly surface blemishes. A number of methods for finishing formed concrete surfaces are now in use, but for various reasons none are completely satisfactory. This program was conducted to evaluate some of these methods, and to investigate all phases of the problem in order to develop a procedure for possible adoption as standard practice by the Corps of Engineers.
