Mathematical Analysis.
Abstract
The Final Scientific Report summarizes the research results obtained under Grant AFOSR-69-1657, during the period 15 September 1968 through 14 September 1971, by three Vaclav Hlavaty Professors at Indiana University; P. Cherenack, W. Greenberg, and G. Bennett. One reprint and twelve manuscripts were submitted. Dr. Cherenack's results concern a homotopy group of algebraic arcs found by smoothed approximations, analytic homotopy groups by smoothed coordinates, resultant defined intersection multiplicities, the projection of surfaces, analytic homotopy groups and covering spaces, and basic objects for an algebraic homotopy theory. Dr. Greenberg's results concern quantum potentials on lattices and the thermodynamic states of classical systems. Dr. Bennett's results concern the gliding humps technique for FK-spaces, a representation theorem for summability domains, (chi,c) methods of limitation, an absolute value inequality, and FK-spaces containing the convergence domain of a certain matrix.
