Primary Irritation Evaluation Program Study Numbers 33-004-72, 33-005-72 and 33-006-72 August 1971-September 1971,

Abstract

Three candidate repellents were evaluated on New Zealand white rabbits for their potential to cause skin irritation. The data obtained serve as a basis for making the following recommendations concerning their potential use on humans. These recommendations are intended only for guidance in further entomological testing of the compound. ENT-34694 and ENT-34695 should be used on human skin found by examination to have no abrasion or may be used in clothing. ENT-34697 should be used with extreme caution on the skin or may be used in clothing. Those compounds found to be irritating to the skin of rabbits should be resubmitted in the form and at the concentration of their intended use so that their irritation potential can be reexamined.
