Relationships between Solar Flares and Other Aspects of Solar Activity.

Abstract

The document reviews a program directed towards a better understanding of the relationships between solar flares and other aspects of solar activity. The work under the contract is centered around three principal projects: (1) the relationship aspects of solar act between daily 2800 MHz flux and the number of flares per day; (2) reexamination of solar circumstances prior to each geomagnetic storm since 1955; and (3) systematic study of all centers of activity since 1955. All research conducted under the contract already has been reported through a series of Quarterly Reports. It is reviewed briefly in the body of this report and it is published in part in six articles in astronomical and geophysical journals. (Author)
