Specifics of Interaction of Quasistable Laser Radiation with Metals (Ob Osobennostyakh Vzaimodeistviya s Metallami Kvazistasionarnogo Izlucheniya Lazera),

Abstract

The quasistable interaction of laser radiation with metals is studied experimentally. Comparative analysis of the results with the results of the interaction of a radiation beam with the same energy and total pulse length but significantly different structure indicates that the mechanisms of the interactions differ qualitatively. Possibilities exist for using quasistable radiation for welding and melting of metals.
