Migratory Animal Pathological Survey.
Abstract
A seven year intensive study of the migration of birds in Eastern Asia and of the ectoparasites and haematozoa which they carry with them has accumulated a great mass of data. The total birds ringed was about 107, 500. A brief summary of ringing in each country is given. The major ectoparasite genera are listed and a discussion of the occurrence of Mallophaga on owls in Thailand is given. More than 4,000 recovery records have been received and these are totaled by family. Treatest recovery rate has been from the Philippines, 24% of all records.
