An Aerodynamic Center for Ordnance Research and Development.

Abstract

An aerodynamic center for conducting ordnance research and development is described. It is assumed that subsonic and transonic facilities are available at some other installation or installations. The center is, therefore, specialized in that only high-speed facilities are provided. After outlining facility specifications, automatic data handling and instrumentation requirements are reviewed. Comments on costs cover initial investment, operating, and maintenance and repair. Finally, the staff which should be associated with the Center is discussed, and the makeup of the professional staff is examined.
