Computer Memory Management at RAND

Abstract

The Fixed Initiator facility is a stable and reliable modification to the MVT system at Rand. Fixed Initiators can reserve storage for on-line systems, reserve storage for guaranteed access applications, and protect the batch processing from accidental execution in a slower-speed storage. As a facility for memory management it has reduced the problems associated with controlling three access speeds of memory.
