Thermodynamic Study of an Aluminum, Oxygen and Carbon System at High Temperatures (Termodinamicheskoe Issledovanie Sistemy Al-O-S pri Vysokikh Temperaturakh),

Abstract

The proper selection of solid and gaseous phase combinations of aluminum, oxygen and carbon with respect to the real behavior of these systems at given conditions is very important for thermodynamic analyses of such systems at high temperatures. Graphs of the phase and chemical balances of this phase system at different pressures are given. The graph of chemical and phase balance of the system can be much more accurate when the data concerning the mutual solubility is given. Conditions characterizing the one variant state of the system at various pressures are given. The decrease in pressure in this system moves the solid phase existance areas toward the low temperatures; the increase in pressure shows the contrary influence.
