Radar Stereo Equipment Program.

Abstract

The purpose of the Radar Stereo Equipment Program was to design and fabricate equipment for the compilation of map contours from side-looking radar imagery. This is the final report and describes the progress made during the course of the program. The equipment was designed to use an analytical stereo plotting concept. A general-purpose computer is used to solve the radar stereo model equations, to control the equipment, and to plot contours on a digital plotter. The optical system of the equipment was specifically designed for radar stereo. To accomplish this end, an appropriate range of zoom magnification was provided, in addition to an anamorphic zoom capability. A positive-negative photo carriage was also provided to allow operation with either same-side or opposite-side stereo. (Author)
