Investigation of Stimulated Two-Photon Emission and Anti-Stokes Raman Scattering from Metastable Deuterium Atoms.

Abstract

In the report the author analyzes two approaches to the problem of generating vacuum-uv light; namely, stimulated two-photon emission or anti-Stokes Raman scattering from metastable He(21S) atoms in a gas discharge and proton-cesium charge exchange laser. With present state-of-the-art techniques, the construction of only the Cs+ion laser (or proton-cesium charge exchange laser) is feasible. (Author)
