Research in Inhomogeneous Turbulent Wake Flows.

Abstract

The report considers a turbulent fluid moving uniformly with some average velocity through an inviscid medium, the boundary between the two fluids being quite sharp. It examines the response of the turbulent fluid to perturbations of the boundary and examines the response spectrum. The configuration of interest is the wake created by a sphere moving with a constant velocity through an incompressible medium.
