Distributed Parameter Systems. An Annotated Bibliography-to April 1971. Parts I and II,
Abstract
In the two part report a survey of methods for analysis and synthesis of distributed parameter systems is given. A few applications are also mentioned. Since the results are scattered throughout the literature and no unifying treatment is available the more essential results in different areas are stated without proof. Therefore, this report can be used as a reference for straightforward applications. The following subjects are treated in part one of the report: stability, controllability, observability, necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality and existence and uniqueness of solutions to some optimal control problems. In Part 2 stochastic control, identification, estimation, computational and synthesis methods and some applications, such as control of chemical reactors, heat exchangers, furnaces, nuclear rockets and plasmas are treated.
