Electrical Properties of Transition Metal Oxides up to 1800C.

Abstract

The report treats three projects: The conductivity and the Hall effect of pure Co0 and of Co0 doped with titanium or chromium have been measured. The measurements were done over a wide range of oxygen pressures and the range of temperatures was 988 to 1280 degrees C. The hole drift mobility in Ni0 single crystals has been measured by optical injection. We found that (mu sub p) = 0.3 sq cm/V-sec at room temperature. The method of epitaxoal crystal growth of Cech and Allessandrini has been refined with the aim of obtaining Ni0 crystals containing no more than 20 ppm total impurities and possibly better. (Author)
