Radiological Instrument Design Investigation for OCD.
Abstract
Circuit and electronic component designs for the Office of Civil Defense radiological instrumentation were studied. Miniature gas-discharge ionization chamber instruments were studied, and two experimental modules were constructed and tested. Additional observations and data were recorded to determine radiation effects on metal-oxide field-effect transistors. A commercial operational amplifier was studied for application to electrometer type radiological instruments. A study of proportional counters for use in gamma survey meters was started. Utilization of breadboard-type integrated circuits was investigated. (Author)
