Elastic-Plastic Constitutive Formulations for Multi-Dimensional Stress States Including Non-Isothermal Plastic Deformation.

Abstract

A rate-independent elastic-plastic constitutive formulation is presented. It is presented so as to include multi-dimensional stress states and temperature. Indications are included for application in computer codes. An example is given for a specific material in a given technical use. To use this description a thermodynamic equation of state is needed and it must be known which specific stress components are operative. This formulation is based on isotropic work-hardening and the von Mises yield condition. Kinematic work-hardening may be used as well as the Tresca yield condition. Kinematic work-hardening may be used as well as the Tresca yield condition details of which are given in the references. (Author)
