From 13-18 September 1971 the Second International Biodeterioration Symposium was held in The Netherlands. Seventy papers were presented in the general areas of Biodeterioration of Objects of Art and Sciences, Breakdown Mechanisms, Ecology, Paints, and Paint Films, Protection of Materials, Raw Natural Products, Methology, Timber and Marine Environments.
