Polymethylmethacrylate (Vozdeistvie Nepreryvnogo Izlucheniya Gazovogo Lazera na Obraztsy iz Polimetilmetakrilata),

Abstract

The rupture of polymethylmethacrylate under the influence of continuous, powerful (up to 20 w) radiation at a wavelength of 10.6 microns was studied. The dependence of the rate of motion of the crater on time of application is established. Theoretical estimates of the rate of motion and depth of the crater are presented on the basis of the thermobalance equation, which correspond to experimentally measured rates.
