Special Purpose Digital Computer Dicor for Reactor Control and Safety System,

Abstract

A brief description of the algorithm, hardware structure and main parameters is given. Three simple independent special purpose computers perform all control and safety functions which were previously performed by known facilities composed of many individual measuring, signaling and control channels of analog types. The system of the computers treating pulse signals from fixed fission chambers at source levels can be used at a higher neutron flux level as the movable detectors system. In this way, wide-range operation is warranted without any change in the system structure. Simple selfchecking circuits are provided for the whole operational range. (Author)
