Synthesis of Arbovirus RNA and Proteins on Sub-Cellular Structures,

Abstract

The sub-cellular structures investigated, consisting of cytoplasmic membranes with ribosomes and mitochondria, represent a convenient model for investigation of virus-induction synthesis. The availability of a replicative complex of a virus in them provides the possibility of synthesis of virus-specific RNA, the availability of ribosome systems - the synthesis of proteins, and the availability of mitochondria - the storage and regeneration of compounds with macro-ergic connections. The meaning of the separate components of this system and a more detailed analysis of the products being synthesized - is the subject of a subsequent investigation. (Author)
