Earth Vibration Effects and Abatement for Military Facilities. Report 1. Site Selection for Ground Motion Studies.

Abstract

The report summarizes site investigation work conducted at the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) and at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, in order to locate a uniform soil deposit in which initial propagation experiments can be conducted. Two potential sites for the conduct of ground motion propagation experiments have been investigated through the use of conventional and specialized exploration and evaluation techniques. (Author)
