Lossy Media Propagation at 50 kHz

Abstract

Experiments were conducted using a magnetic sheet antenna immersed in sea water at 50 kHz. The decay of a transmitted signal as a function of distance from antenna was measured above and below the water surface using a ferrite receiving probe. The radiation pattern of the transmitting antenna in water are also presented.
