The Effect of Reverted Austenite on the Mechanical Properties of an 18 Ni-Fe Binary Alloy.

Abstract

The effect of austenite reversion on the tensile properties of an 18 Ni-Fe binary alloy was briefly examined. It is seen that the first percentages of reverted austenite appearing on the martensite platelets boundaries cause modest increases in strength; these disappear however when reversion exceeds about 6% of austenite.
