A Limited Resource Approach to System Performance Evaluation.

Abstract

A probabilistic model of a computer system is developed which allows one to interrelate throughput, turnaround time, and availability. These relations are obtained by utilizing the concept of a limiting resource. The system modeled is assumed to be multiprogrammed of fixed degree with no priorities.
