Thermoelastic Analysis and Test Correlation of Low Thermal Expansion Composite Material Laminates.

Abstract

Thornel 75S/ERLB 4617 Graphite-Epoxy composite material laminates configured for isotropic low thermal expansion characteristics are analyzed for correlation of analytically predicted thermal structural response with test data. The unidirectional lamina angular orientations are 0, 60, and - 60 degrees relative to the laminate axes. Panels analyzed include solid laminates of three and six layers and aluminum honeycomb sandwich panels of three and six layer laminated facesheets. (Author-PL)
