Unifying Concepts of Systems Applicable to Aerospace Systems.

Abstract

The main areas of research which have been invesestigated are linear systems with unknown input gains, neutrality and separability properties of dual control algorithms, the controllability of fixed linear systems, compatible suboptimal controllers for the constrained dynamic compensation of linear systems and multi-reflective regulation of heart rate during lung inflation. In the case of discrete-time filters, a numerical algorithm was derived for calculating the output of the filter which adapts to its own noise. The derivation of the optimal control law for linear systems with unknown input gains is another new result of this research effort. Results of the investigation in dual control include the establishment of a separation property for certain problems of identification and control as well as the establishment of certain neutrality and separability properties of dual control algorithms.
