Model Tests of Enlarged Navigation Channel at Miller Sands Bar, Columbia River Estuary,

Abstract

The paper describes a series of tests made in the Columbia River Estuary model at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station concerning enlargement of the navigation channel at Miller Sands Bar. Tests were conducted to determine the effects of enlarging the channel and to determine the effectiveness of various combinations of proposed inprovement works. The paper also describes the purpose of the model study, the prototype the model, and model testing procedures.
