Abstract

Victoria Channel, a Federal navigation project that is being constructed in connection with the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, is located along the Gulf coast in south-central Texas. The navigation channel will extend northwesterly from the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway in San Antonio Bay approximately 35 channel miles to a turning basin about 7 miles south of Victoria, Texas. Model tests were undertaken to verify or modify the flow requirements of the flushing system proposed for Victoria Channel.
