Status Report on the Gastineau Channel Model Study,

Abstract

The paper describes the testing program currently underway (August 1966) at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station concerning improvement of the navigation channel in Gastineau Channel, Alaska. At the present time, hydraulic adjustment and verification of the model have been completed and the shoaling verification of the model is underway. The paper also describes the purpose of the model study, the existing prototype conditions, the model and its appurtenances,m model testing procedures, and the proposed testing program.
