Remarks on Singular Perturbations with Turning Points.

Abstract

Consider boundary value problems for the differential equations (epsilon)(y double primed) + f(x,epsilon)y prime + g(x,epsilon)y = O where f(x,epsilon)x < O for x not =O. Let the set(y(x,epsilon sub n)) be convergent to (y bar)(x) as (epsilon sub n) approaches 0(+). It is very rare that y bar(x) not = 0. This report studies this phenomenona. (Author)
