An Introduction to the Geometry of Involute Traps,

Abstract

The involute of a circle arises in the study of certain pursuit problems. The pursuer can use these curves, in a manner of speaking, to form 'involute traps' in which to catch a would-be evader. What these traps are, how they operate, and why they work is the subject of the present paper. (Author)
