Study of Molecular Lasers

Abstract

The report presents results from research on molecular and chemical lasers. The topics include: Vibrational deexcitation and energy transfer in the HF, CF, HF-CO2 and DF-CO2 chemical lasers; Shock tube studies of vibrational relaxation in CO2 induced by collisions; Efficient atom production by molecular dissociation in a high power S-band microwave discharge; Chemical laser studies with C2H2 + O, CS2 + O; Chemical reaction rates for H + Cl2 to HCl + Cl, H + F2 to HF + F, NO + F2 to NOF + F; Study of rapid gas mixing in a subsonic gas flow enhanced by controlled turbulence; High pressure vibrational relaxation studies in CO2.
