Abstract

The report is one of a series intended to provide a preliminary overview of current Soviet research activities on the effects of explosions. Interaction of explosions with the ground, the atmosphere, and materials have broad research ramifications and significance, especially in the case of nuclear explosions. The pertinent topics include simulation studies, effects of high pressures and temperatures on materials, reentry problems, radiation effects, electromagnetic phenomena, etc.
