Composition for an Antifriction Material,

Abstract

The Russian patent describes the composition for an antifriction material which consists of polytetrafluoroethylene and a metallic binder. It is distinguished by the fact that in order to improve the physicomechanical properties of the material up to 70 vol. % of a mixture of a low-melting metal such as gallium and a refractory metal such as copper, is introducted to the composition as a metallic binder. In order to improve the friction coefficient of the material, a solid lubricant, molybdenum disulfide, boron nitride, or graphite, is added.
