Considerations Regarding the Improvement of the Qualities of Mineral Oils with the Aid of Additives

Abstract

Improvement in the design of internal combustion engines required to change the properties of oils used as fuel and lubricant is shown. The potential improvement of the properties of the lubricating oils by means of additives such as detergents, antioxidants, agents affecting the index of viscosity, depressants, anticongelation and anticorrosion agents and high pressure, high temperature additives was studied. These materials are added to the oil in a given range.
